About the Movie
Vinayachandran and Sindhu are an ideal couple who deeply love each other, as noted by their neighbors Nambiarettan and Shoshammetathi. Vinayan has recently joined a reputed public school as a Malayalam teacher. His passion for teaching the regional language is portrayed as a politically progressive stance, which he demonstrates through his unconventional and engaging teaching methods that quickly win over his students.
Complications arise when Sindhu’s younger sister Bala comes to visit them. The young and impressionable Bala develops romantic feelings for Vinayachandran, creating significant tension in the couple’s relationship. Meanwhile, the school authorities begin to criticize Vinayan’s unorthodox teaching methods, leading to professional difficulties. These mounting issues, combined with the emotional turmoil caused by Bala’s infatuation, create misunderstandings between Sindhu and Vinayan that threaten their harmonious marriage.
Eventually, Vinayan’s students rally to support him, helping him regain his position at the school. The couple resolves their misunderstandings and peacefully restores their relationship as they bid farewell to Bala when she departs. Director Fazil’s film thoughtfully explores the delicate balance between love, modern education, and social values in contemporary Kerala. The performances by Mohanlal, Samyuktha Varma, and Geethu Mohandas are particularly noteworthy, bringing depth and authenticity to this family drama.
