Madhu Balakrishnan is a renowned playback singer from Kerala who has established himself as one of South India’s leading vocalists across multiple film industries. Born in Paravur, Ernakulam district, Madhu’s musical journey began during his training at the Academy of Indian Music and Arts in Chennai, where he received guidance from the legendary Padma Bhushan T. Balakrishnan. His foray into playback singing started unexpectedly in 1995 when Tamil composer Shaan offered him an opportunity, though his formal entry into Malayalam cinema came around 1999.

Madhu’s breakthrough moment arrived in 2002 with the iconic Malayalam song “Amme Amme” from the film Vaalkannadi, composed by M. Jayachandran.
