Sringaravelan ശൃംഗാരവേലൻ

Sringaravelan is a 2013 Malayalam action-comedy film directed by Jose Thomas and written by the hit commercial duo Udayakrishna–Siby K. Thomas. The film stars Dileep as Kannan, a carefree young man whose only real ambition is to get rich quickly rather than make use of the fashion-designing course his weaving–master father Ayyappanasan sends him for. Kannan’s get-rich plan is to woo and marry a rich girl, and this money-minded starting point sets up both the humour and the conflicts that follow.

Kannan’s life changes when he reaches the village of Kuthampully with his friend Yesu and meets Radhu, played by Vedhika, the granddaughter of Varmaji, a traditional royal landlord. While staying there after a temple pooja mishap, Kannan genuinely falls in love with Radhu, only to learn that she is the daughter of a dreaded Mumbai gangster, whose violent past and enemies make her life constantly unsafe. The plot then mixes romance, family emotions and crime elements as Kannan is forced to decide whether he will risk his life to protect Radhu and win her over, instead of chasing easy money.

The movie is packed with situational comedy, slapstick and festival-time masala, with supporting performances from Kalabhavan Shajon, Baburaj, Joy Mathew and others adding to the humour and action. Much of the second half revolves around Kannan trying to outwit gangsters and Radhu’s fearsome father, leading to chases, fights and broad comic set-pieces. Backed by colourful visuals, a commercial song-and-dance soundtrack and Dileep’s trademark comic timing, Sringaravelan is designed as a festive entertainer, focusing more on laughs and heroics than on a realistic or subtle story.

2013-ൽ ജോസ് തോമസ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത് വാണിജ്യ വിജയങ്ങൾ നേടിയ ഉദയകൃഷ്ണ–സിബി കെ. തോമസ് കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് തിരക്കഥയെഴുതിയ മലയാളം ആക്ഷൻ-ഹാസ്യ ചിത്രമാണ് “ശൃംഗാരവേലൻ”. നെയ്ത്ത് തൊഴിലാളിയായ അച്ഛൻ അയ്യപ്പനാശാൻ ഫാഷൻ ഡിസൈനിംഗ് കോഴ്സിന് അയച്ചിട്ടും, വേഗത്തിൽ പണക്കാരനാകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന കണ്ണൻ എന്ന അലസനായ യുവാവിനെയാണ് (ദിലീപ് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്) ചിത്രം കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു ധനികയായ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു കണ്ണന്റെ പണമുണ്ടാക്കാനുള്ള പദ്ധതി. ഈ പണക്കൊതിയോടെയുള്ള തുടക്കം തുടർന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന ഹാസ്യത്തിനും സംഘർഷങ്ങൾക്കും വഴി തുറക്കുന്നു.

കഥാസംഗ്രഹവും വൈകാരിക സംഘർഷവും
