പതിമൂന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലെ കാകതീയ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രം പറയുന്ന ബിഗ് ബജറ്റ് ചിത്രമാണ് ഗുണശേഖർ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത “രുദ്രമാദേവി”. പുരുഷന്മാർ മാത്രം സിംഹാസനം അലങ്കരിച്ചിരുന്ന അക്കാലത്ത്, ശത്രുക്കളിൽ നിന്നും രാജ്യത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഗണപതിദേവ ചക്രവർത്തി തന്റെ മകളെ ‘രുദ്രദേവൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ ഒരു ആൺകുട്ടിയായി വളർത്തുന്നു. തന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ വ്യക്തിത്വം മറച്ചുവെച്ച് യുദ്ധതന്ത്രങ്ങളിലും ഭരണത്തിലും അഗ്രഗണ്യയായി മാറുന്ന ഒരു രാജകുമാരിയുടെ വീരഗാഥയാണിത്.
