About the Movie
“Pattth” follows Unni, a struggling film editor in Kerala, who while editing a travel vlog featuring a Kenyan tribe’s traditional song, discovers his grandmother singing along to it and claiming familiarity. This sparks curiosity in Unni and his girlfriend Anupama, leading them to share her rendition on social media where they find that many others also recognize the song.
Driven by this unexpected connection, Unni and Anupama embark on a documentary journey across Kerala, interviewing diverse individuals who claim to know the origins of the mysterious tune. Each encounter deepens the enigma, blending folklore, personal memories, and cultural intersections that span continents.
The film presents itself as a breezy, mockumentary-style exploration of songs, stories, and human curiosity. It delicately balances humor, warmth, and intrigue, as the couple’s genuine fascination unfolds amid vintage-style interviews and contemporary narrative, ultimately reflecting on how music transcends boundaries and connects people in unexpected ways.
