About the Movie
In the quaint village of Kudungassery, nestled among Kerala’s backwaters, a seemingly ordinary community faces extraordinary challenges that threaten to tear apart its social fabric. The absence of adequate public transport and cremation services has become the catalyst for widespread discontent, prompting villagers to take to the streets in protest against their elected panchayath authorities. These infrastructure woes become the perfect ammunition for political opportunists seeking to exploit public grievances for their own gain.
As local elections loom on the horizon, the opposition chief Vallabhan seizes upon these mounting frustrations to challenge the ruling party head, OK Krishnadas, in a battle for political supremacy. What unfolds is a darkly comedic tale of ambition, rivalry, and the perennial struggle between personal interests and public welfare. The film masterfully weaves together themes of rural governance, infrastructure development, and the often-absurd nature of local politics, creating a satirical commentary on the gap between political promises and ground realities.
Through humor embedded in everyday life and the quirks of village administration, the narrative follows Krishnadas as he scrambles to address the village’s pressing concerns while simultaneously fighting to maintain his political position against Vallabhan’s mounting challenge. The story becomes a reflection on how bureaucratic indifference and political maneuvering often overshadow genuine community needs, all wrapped in the entertaining package of a comedy-drama that resonates with the realities of rural India.[1][2]
