The narrative unfolds as Gopi, desperate to improve his fortunes, consults an astrologer who predicts wealth is imminent in his life. On his way home from work, Gopi unintentionally comes into possession of a suitcase filled with gold bars, discarded during a police chase by criminals led by the smuggler Mathachen (Rajan P. Dev). Believing this newfound wealth will transform his family’s destiny, Gopi becomes overconfident, resigns from his job, and makes grand promises, which only baffle and worry his loved ones.
However, Gopi’s inexperience and naivety in handling the gold bring a series of comedic and troublesome situations for his family. His attempts to sell the gold fail, leading to misunderstandings and suspicion within his close circle, and ultimately, his odd behavior and erratic decisions force his family to admit him to a mental hospital. Njaan Kodeeshwaran blends elements of comedy and social commentary, exploring themes of greed, luck, and the elusive pursuit of happiness through material wealth.
