Set in the rustic backdrop of Kasaragod, “Kundala Puranam” centers around Venu, a humble security guard, and his wife Thankamani, whose lives revolve around their school-going daughter, Kingini. When Kingini finally overcomes an ear infection and yearns for gold earrings, Venu’s decision to buy them becomes a pivotal moment that sets off a chain of events, blending joy and turmoil within their family.

The family’s private well, a symbol of both sustenance and community, becomes the heart of the story as neighbors gather for water and gossip, echoing the rhythms of village life. When Kingini accidentally loses her cherished earrings in the well, the incident ignites tensions and tests relationships, revealing the fragile balance between generosity and greed, tradition and change.
