## Radhika Thilak: The Melodious Voice of Malayalam Cinema
Radhika Thilak was a gifted playback singer whose soulful renditions left a lasting impression on Malayalam music lovers. Born in 1970, she began her musical journey through light music, performing regularly for All India Radio and Doordarshan before making her film debut. Her entry into playback singing was marked by the song “Pulkkodithumbilum” from the film Sangha Gaanam in 1989, which paved the way for a vibrant and successful career.
Throughout her career, Radhika Thilak lent her voice to nearly 70 Malayalam film songs, many of which have become timeless classics. Some of her most celebrated works include “Maayamanchalil” from Ottayal Pattalam (1991), “Devasangeetham” from Guru (1997), “Manjakilyude Moolipattunde” from Kanmadam (1998), “Kaithapoo Manamenthe” from Sneham (1998), and “Ente Ulludukkum Kotti” from Deepasthambham Mahascharyam (1999). Besides film music, she also recorded numerous devotional songs and was cherished for her versatility and emotional depth.
Despite her immense talent, Radhika Thilak did not always receive the recognition she deserved within the industry. Nevertheless, her contributions left a lasting legacy, and she is fondly remembered as one of the most melodious and heartfelt voices of Malayalam cinema. Radhika passed away on September 20, 2015, in Kochi after a battle with cancer, survived by her husband Suresh and daughter Devika.
