Sadayam is a 1992 Malayalam-language psychological drama that delves deep into themes of morality, trauma, and redemption. The narrative centers on Sathyanathan, portrayed by Mohanlal in a widely acclaimed performance, who awaits execution after being convicted for the murder of two young girls and two men. Initially unremorseful, Sathyanathan’s journey is slowly unveiled through poignant flashbacks that explore the circumstances—marked by exploitation and abuse—that led him to commit these heinous acts, which he rationalizes as a desperate attempt to save the girls from a fate similar to his own troubled past.
