## A Locked House, Border Troubles: The Story of Kerala House Udan Vilpanakku
Kerala House Udan Vilpanakku (transl. Kerala House for Immediate Sale) is a 2004 Malayalam comedy drama film centered on the misadventures of Dineshan Kondody, played by Jayasurya, who urgently attempts to sell his ancestral house situated at the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border in Walayar. Desperate to clear mounting debts, Dineshan faces unforeseen bureaucratic and legal hurdles when he discovers a part of the property technically belongs to another state, leading to a series of comic yet poignant events.
The film features a strong ensemble cast: Jayasurya as the beleaguered Dineshan, Girly as Sundari, Salim Kumar as Tester Kannappan, Harisree Asokan as Vallabhan, Cochin Hanifa, and Narendra Prasad, with supporting roles by Saikumar and others. The production was helmed by director Thaha, with a screenplay by Kaloor Dennis and original story by Girish Puthenchery. Renowned composer Ousepachan contributed the music, while Ousepachan Valakuzhy produced it under the Chitrangana Films banner.
Despite the engaging premise and notable cast, Kerala House Udan Vilpanakku failed to impress both critics and audiences, receiving negative reviews for its execution. It is significant in Malayalam cinema as the last film appearance of respected actor Narendra Prasad, marking the end of an era for his fans.
